Preliminary Japan Pension Refund Eligibility Check

This self-check separates public pension conditions, PenPos service scope, and application readiness. It does not determine legal entitlement or guarantee payment.

About this checker

How this preliminary check works

Eight general questions provide a preliminary self-check. The result separates public pension conditions, PenPos service fit, and application readiness; it is not a final eligibility determination.

What the check considers

Your answers may indicate that pension records, address status, the filing-deadline starting point, social-security agreement periods, or a previous lump-sum claim require individual review. For Question 2, learn how National Pension and Employees’ Pension are treated differently. For the approximate coverage range in Question 3, understand the difference between 6, 60 and 120 months. You can also see what can be prepared before leaving Japan or learn how the filing-deadline starting point is checked.

What this check does not decide

The result does not guarantee eligibility, payment, or that PenPos will accept a case. The Japan Pension Service makes the final decision, and PenPos reviews service acceptance separately.
